Plastics are also called synthetic resins and are broadly classified into two categories: Thermosetting Resins and Thermoplastic Resins. PVC is an Acronym for Polyvinyl Chloride. A resin is a material often used in the production of plastics and rubbers. PVC resin is a white powder commonly used to produce thermoplastics. PVC resin alone is a raw material. It can be made into products with a wide range of properties from soft and flexible to light and rigid.

EVA is short for Ethylene Vinyl Acetate.
EVA is an elastomeric polymer that produces materials which are “rubber-like” in softness and flexibility. The material has good clarity and gloss, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive waterproof properties, and resistance to UV radiation..
Footwear components, flexible hose, automobile bumpers, toys and athletic goods, moulded automotive parts, flexible packaging & films.
Dioctyl phthalate (DOP, DEHP), is clear, colourless, viscous liquid with a slight, characteristic odor. Soluble in ethanol, ether, mineral oil and the majority of organic solvents. Immiscible with water, resistant to hydrolysis and air oxygen activity.
Its high plasticizing efficiency, fusion rate, visosity, low volatility, UV-resisting property, water-extracting proof, cold-resisting property, and also good softness and electric property found a lot of applications in many offshoots of the industry.
Dioctyl phthalate can be used as a softening agent , such as to make the product easier to rebound and harder to undergo form change under pressure, without affecting of the plastics. DOP possesses its good plasticizing properties thanks to the ability to make the long polimers molecules to slide against one another.
It is extensively used in processing polyvinyl choride and ethylcellulose resins to produce plastic film, imitation leather, electric wire, cable wearer, sheet, planet, mould plastic products and used in nitrocellulose paints. It has the applications in the industry of automotive, building and construction material, flooring, medical device.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), has the distinction of being the strongest, toughest, most chemical resistant and least flexible of the four types of flexible plastic sheeting referenced in this article. HDPE is also the most UV resistant- holding up to the harsh rays of the sun without needing UV additive packages. HDPE’s strength comes from its tight cell structure that makes it very difficult for other molecules to pass through its structure on a microscopic level. When applications call for very large liners such as pond liners, HDPE is the most easily seamed or “sewn” together. Used industrially, the thickness range from 12 mils to100 mil thick. HDPE is used as secondary containment liners for oil tanks, and most industrial ponds and canal liners where chemical resistance is needed.

Plastic bottles: Most people are informally introduced to the durable plastic through water bottles. HDPE is great for blow-molding applications, particularly food and beverage containers because it won’t leach into the bottles’ contents. In addition, HDPE is recyclable which makes it a great choice for these highly disposable products.
Toys: HDPE is UV resistant which helps keep the toys resistant to the ray’s damaging and discoloring effects.
Chemical containers: With its chemical resistant properties, HDPE is great for laundry, shampoo, conditioner, household cleaning products, motor oil, antifreeze and recycling bins. The strength of these bottles is increased when they’ve been colored or pigmented.
Pipe systems: HDPE pipe grade sheet has a higher molecular weight compared to the standard HDPE used in the above examples. This strengthening with its UV-resistance makes it ideal for piping and outdoor applications. Pipe grade sheet has the ability to withstand -220 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s durable in most chemical interactions which make it useful in a lot of industrial applications.
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) is the most flexible of the plastic sheeting films. LLDPE is blended form of LDPE where the film has much more flexibility, tensile strength, and more conformability. It is more pliable and softer. LLDPE is used for pond liners or blended into other films to give them more flexibility and extra strength. LLDPE is used for films that need a tremendous amount of strength to absorb impacts while not tearing or puncturing. An example of this is a carpet plastic film that adheres to the carpet. It is strong enough to withstand foot traffic, even from stiletto high heels! The molecules all line up and strongly hold together as the film is stretched. The most common thickness range is from 0.5 mil to 40 mil in flexible plastic sheeting.

Paste Resin is a kind PVC produced by an emulsion or dispersion process. When paste resin is mixed with plasticizers and additives, We obtain plastisol/organosol in the form of thickened paste like toothpaste. We use this plastisol for doing surface coating. Making moulding work or spraying upon materials etc. Paste PVC makes good use of unique processing methods, making it easy to form products high in added-value, so the benefits of using paste PVC continue to rise.

Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is the most common type of plastic sheeting. It is very flexible, most often from 0.5 mil thick to about 40 mil in flexible sheeting forms. Due to its flexibility is conforms well to a variety of surfaces. The downside is that this LDPE is not as strong or dense as some other types of plastic sheeting. It is not nearly as puncture resistant either. LDPE is used quite widely in construction, agriculture, surface protection applications, covers of all sorts, tarps and much more.

Polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications including packaging and labeling, textiles (e.g., ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components, transvaginal mesh[1] and polymer banknotes. An addition polymer made from the monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.
Polypropylene has a relatively slippery “low energy surface” that means that many common glues will not form adequate joints. Joining of polypropylene is often done using welding processes.
